In the year 1376 Ashouraiyan Cultural Complex started out with only twelve Esfahani students. They consulted cultural specialist and experts to answer some of the main ideological and cultural needs of youth. Since such an organization didn't exist, they grew from being only twelve students, and now Ashouraiyan is an effective NGO formation with Shia identity in front lines of cultural Islamic Revolution that prepare activities that promote ideological and cultural beliefs of youngsters and progress of society.
From its birth, Ashouraiyan has selected its main audience from university and high school students. There are two seprate programs:one for the public(Moharram and Neme Shaban) and the other weekly sessions for Ashouraiyan members. The main goal of these programs is to celebrate and attract adolescents and youth.
Ashouraiyan has two plans of actions, the first, to nurture of manpower towards a culture ful of knwledge. The other is to show the next generation a proper and modest way to celebrate and perform Islamic customs and rituals.
This complex has about 300 main members and over 10,000 volunteers. The executives play a main role in putting together all of the activities. The executives nurture of cultural managers that can help in directing of cultural advances.
One of the main strategies for guiding and nurturing adolescents is connection, in this case between the cultural centers and themselves. In fact Ashouraiyan is a comittee that wants to create religious and cultural space for each respective city without any form of payment from its members.
Since 1382 Ashouraiyan has been held weekly in a series of events called Behesht or (Heaven) and members. Behesht provides an opportunity for youth to discuss and talk about religious and cultural issues and ask their questions from cultural specialist.
In 1386 Ashoraiyan board members had a meeting with Supreme Leader of Islamic revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei. In this meeting Supreme leader advised Ashouraiyan focus specifically on two fields and carry both tout simlateneously. Consequntly since 1387 these changes were implemented in its strategic plan and in 1391 fourth stage of reformation was completed and formally announced. The Second Movement of Ashouraiyan started in 1391.
During fifteen years dynamic activity in the student sphere Ashouraiyan has rippledan effective cultural wave on both urban and national level. Now the Ashouraiyan Cultural Complex is aiming towards becomming a top-notch dynamic cultural activity center unlike any seen before, which we hope to accomplish a 20-year agenda.
